A Word From the Pastor!

December 16, 2009

I love Christmas time!! What a great day on Sunday last with the morning service and then the Musical on Sunday night. The line-up of singers, dancers, and musicians made it one of the most, if not the most, memorial time of worship in my ministry. The Holy Spirit’s presence was so evident, and the climax came when someone came to give her life to Christ. I racked my brain to remember if that had actually happened before, and I cannot ever remember it happening. So a big thanks to Matt and all the folks who made it so spectacular; and not to be forgotten was the fellowship afterward, the food and decorations in the fellowship hall were just as spectacular. What a blessing it has been to actually have a place where we can all be comfortable in our fellowship times.

We have much more going on this week and next. The concert on Thursday night, and then Christmas at Grace on Friday and Saturday night will be a great time of celebration, as well as a great opportunity to invite the community in to spend Christmas time with us at Grace. Please remember to talk to your friends and neighbors about celebrating with us.

Janice and I want to wish all of you a very BLESSED Christmas. We are so conscious that all that we have is a gift from Him, but that greatest gift of all is the rejoicing over Christ and the gift of salvation. While we rejoice and enjoy that most blessed gift, the good news of Christ, we must also never forget that there are 2 BILLION plus who do not know His name, and if you were standing in front of them, knew their language, and said the name “Jesus” they would have no clue Who you would be talking about. We have given a lot of special gifts this year, and I am proud of each gift we have given. However, let us not forget our LOTTIE MOON offering is the lifeline for 5,700 missionaries who cover the entire face of the earth. We do not always see them, but they are the frontline of reaching the world for Christ. Please give as sacrificially as you can, and if you have already given, try to give again as the Lord has blessed you.

I am looking forward to celebrating with you this Sunday!! Remember to talk about Jesus during this season, for He is the reason for the season.
